Nestled in the heart of the captivating Norwegian landscape, Hunderfossen Eco Cabins, Hotel, and Campsite

beckons adventurers and seekers of tranquility alike. Recently, we had the privilege of being invited to this extraordinary haven, where nature's beauty seamlessly merges with comfortable accommodations and thrilling experiences.

Our stay in one of the eco cottages was nothing short of magical. From our cabin, we were treated to breath-taking views of an aqua marine lake adorned with swan boats gently bobbing on the water, creating a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

The cabin was embraced by towering forest trees, and the ground was adorned with a delightful display of mushrooms in all shapes, colours, and sizes, truly making us feel like we had stepped into a magical forest realm.

Inside the cabin, comfort was key, with a plush double bed and a cosy bunk bed for the children. The well-equipped kitchenette boasted two hob rings, a sink, coffee and tea making facilities, and a fridge. Both indoor and outdoor dining spaces were at our disposal, allowing us to enjoy our meals while overlooking the picturesque Swan Lake.

Our journey at Hunderfossen extended to the idyllic campsite, where we parked our campervan and were greeted by the majestic presence of the Hunderfossen Park and its iconic giant Troll. The campsite itself was a haven of peace and cleanliness, offering unrivalled views of the surrounding mountains.

Hunderfossen Camping provided modern sanitary facilities, a convenient laundry room, meeting spaces, cable TV, and ample electricity hook-up points. Near the campsite, an array of activities awaited, including mini-golf, kid-carts, a kiosk, and a grocery store. For the more adventurous souls, the nearby mountains beckoned, ready to be explored both in the summer and winter seasons. One early morning Kris did a hike/run that led him to the remarkable Fakkelmannen, a stunning mural created for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. This masterpiece, crafted from the felled trees on the mountainside, depicts a torch-bearing man in a style reminiscent of the Olympic logo.

Stepping into Hunderfossen Hotel & Resort was like entering a world of refined rustic elegance. The décor exuded a warm and welcoming atmosphere, blending traditional Norwegian design elements with modern comforts. The cosy interiors were adorned with subtle nods to nature, echoing the surrounding landscape. From wooden accents that brought the outdoors in to carefully chosen furnishings that provided comfort without compromising on style, every detail seemed thoughtfully curated. The fusion of natural textures and contemporary aesthetics created a relaxing environment, allowing us to unwind and feel at home amidst the enchanting setting of Hunderfossen.

Our time at Hunderfossen Hotel & Resort was made even more special by the delicious offerings at the hotel's restaurant. The buffet breakfast was a highlight, featuring a diverse selection of dishes to suit various tastes. From freshly baked pastries and cheeses to hearty hot options, the spread was both satisfying and enjoyable. They catered for Vegan and Gluten Free too which is always a bonus! The rustic backdrop of the hotel added an extra layer of enjoyment to our morning meal, making it a perfect start to our days of exploration.

As we bid farewell to our incredible time at Hunderfossen Eco Cabins, Hotel, and Campsite, we carry with us the memories of a truly magical escape. This destination has woven together the threads of nature's wonder and cosy hospitality, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts and a massive highlight of our vantrip of Scandinavia. Whether you seek the thrill of adventure or the soothing embrace of nature, Hunderfossen offers an experience that transcends the ordinary. The beauty of the lakes, towering forests, and mountain views will remain with us, reminding us of the beauty that exists when human comfort harmonizes with the glory of the natural world.
