Upon entering Efteling, you are immediately immersed in a world of enchantment. The park's design is a brilliant blend of open spaces, vibrant gardens, and thrilling attractions. With a whopping 11% dedicated to rides and the rest to picturesque open spaces, Efteling offers a refreshing and relaxing experience that sets it apart from other crowded theme parks.

The rides at Efteling are a league of their own. Not only are they thoughtfully designed, but they are also delightfully long, making any queueing time more than worthwhile. And speaking of queues, you won't find yourself spending hours waiting to hop onto your favourite ride here. With efficient ride operations, we never waited more than 30 minutes for any attraction, leaving us with ample time to experience multiple big thrill roller coasters. In the final hour before closing we managed to ride 4 of the parks biggest attractions, we could literally just run on!

Beyond the rides, Efteling prides itself on being a place for families and friends to come together. Picnic and eating areas are scattered throughout the park, offering plenty of opportunities to rest, refuel, and create cherished memories over food. For us the vegan options at the Fabula restaurant were a true highlight, and the portion sizes were more than generous, all at reasonable prices—what a pleasant surprise compared to the exorbitant prices often found at other theme parks! I have to note that the Fabula restaurant's interactive animal decorations and treetop-style play park added an extra touch of magic for the kids. It wasn't just meals that were good value, through the park you could pick up a cold drink for £2-3 and we treated ourselves to a donut which were £1 each - You'd pay x10 this in other parks.

One aspect that impressed us the most was the attention to detail in every aspect of the park. The themed areas and attractions were meticulously crafted, and the blooming flower displays were nothing short of breath taking. Even the kids couldn't help but notice and appreciate the vibrant colors that adorned the park.

Looking forward to 2024, Efteling has some exciting new additions in store. The Danse Macabre ride promises to be a ground-breaking attraction, surrounded by a themed area that will add a spooky area to the park. Additionally, Efteling will be unveiling its first on-site Grand Hotel, providing guests with premium accommodation and themed suites that pay homage to the park's legendary tales.

As a self-proclaimed "Disney girl," I had my reservations about trying something new. However, Efteling exceeded all expectations and won me over completely. The park's unique charm, affordable pricing, and immersive atmosphere left an indelible mark on our hearts. With attractions inspired by myths and legends, Efteling stands out by offering a different kind of magic—one that feels authentic and grounded.

Our day at Efteling was nothing short of extraordinary, and the memories we made will undoubtedly last a lifetime. My youngest left the park with tears in his eyes because he didn't want to leave - after a 12.5 hour day that's a sign of a good time! The smiles and laughter that echoed throughout the park, was evident that Efteling is a place where happiness thrives.
