Why Château Rhianfa Should Be Your Next UK Getaway - PR Invite & Review

Escape to Château Rhianfa in North Wales - a stunning French-inspired castle hotel overlooking the Menai Strait, offering luxury stays, fairytale architecture, and unforgettable views of Snowdonia.

Château Rhianfa is one of those places that feels like it has been pulled straight from the pages of a fairytale.

Tucked away on the banks of the Menai Strait, with views stretching across to the Snowdonia Mountain Range, it is a true hidden gem in North Wales. Inspired by Lady Sarah’s sketches of the Châteaux of the Loire Valley, her husband Sir John Hay-Williams built Château Rhianfa between 1849 and 1851 for her and their daughters. What they created is nothing short of magical. The building is Grade II listed and today serves as a stunning Country House Hotel that offers something unforgettable the moment you arrive.

Rhianfa Lodge Suite interior with large windows, seating area and views of the water

We stayed in the Rhianfa Lodge Suite and honestly, it was everything we hoped for and more. Cosy and welcoming, the suite offered a breathtaking view of the water, with a perfectly placed seating area by the window where we enjoyed a delicious room service breakfast. The £5 tray charge was worth every single penny to enjoy a lazy morning watching the water glisten outside while sipping our coffee. The bathroom was another highlight with a beautiful freestanding bathtub, double wash basins and a spacious walk in shower stocked with L’Occitane skincare products which added a touch of luxury to our stay.

The hotel staff were amazing throughout our time there. Warm, attentive and genuinely keen to make our stay special. We ended our evenings in the hotel bar with expertly made cocktails, which we enjoyed while lounging in the beautifully decorated rooms that felt like they belonged in a romantic novel. Every detail of the interior echoed elegance and charm, with architecture that made you stop and look twice.

The grounds of the château were equally impressive. Landscaped to perfection and buzzing with life, they were filled with the sound of birds and the soft hum of bees. Butterflies danced from flower to flower and there were little tucked away seating areas where you could sit by the water and feel completely at peace.

Château Rhianfa is also in the perfect location for exploring the area. Just a short distance from some of North Wales’ most iconic sights, we managed to tick several things off our travel wish list. Caernarfon Castle is close by and Snowdonia is just around the corner, offering endless adventure. We also visited the famous train station with the longest name in the world - Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch - which was just a short drive away and such a fun photo opportunity.

Our stay at Château Rhianfa was everything we could have hoped for. Full of history, elegance and wonder, it is a place I will remember for years to come. If you are searching for a dreamy escape with luxury, character and the perfect base to explore North Wales, Château Rhianfa is it.
