The Gruffalo Trail at Mountain View Ranch, Caerphilly | Witches, Zombie Woods & more

This spooky family adventure park is ideal for October and includes the Witch's House, Zombie Woods, Pumpkin Trail. The favourite activities are still there - Jumping Pillows, Soft Archery, Fairy Forest, Tree Houses, DOUBLE Zip Wire, Vomit Comet, BIG BIG Swing and of course our awesome Gruffalo Trail!

One of Wales' hidden gems. A long-time family favourite of ours, even on slightly rainy days...

Set in the beautiful Caerphilly borough of South Wales, UK ..

this wonderfully laid out adventure park is clever & thoughtful, allowing options for all ages and energy levels. And the fact it's geared up for Halloween lovers in October half term... we're here for it!

Over one hundred acres of beautiful, scenic countryside to explore here. We visited the first week of November and it was so special seeing the Autumn colours but with hints that Winter was looming. The play spaces and moments along the trail are brilliantly brought to life with admirable attention to detail and creative flair. Come rain or shine it’s a wonderful place to fuel children's imaginations and let them run wild in the fresh air.

When you arrive make sure you get a map; not just for directions (there are signposts and the trails are quite obvious) but there are stamps to collect on the way around and at the end, the children are awarded a sticker and some sweets - The perfect spooky treasure hunt :)

Well-priced and flexible enough for you to visit the cafe, but also plenty of picnic benches to allow you to bring your own packed lunch for the day (although note they do not have waste bins, so you will need to take all rubbish home with you). The cafe has Stonebaked Pizza, Fries, and Hot Dogs as well as Coffee, cold drinks, ice creams, and snacks! Unfortunately not a great deal in the way of vegan options which was disappointing and probably my only criticism.

This is an outdoor adventure park, so even if light rain is forecast we would encourage you to dress appropriately - Pack those wellies! We were lucky with the weather but it was muddy under foot, so we were thankful to be able to change out of our boots when we got back to the car

Your children can get all the fresh air and exercise you could ever want here, and with the festivities in place and revisiting all of our old favourite Julia Donaldson characters this really was a super duper day! Highly recommend.
