The Urban Veda 'Radiance' Skincare Range Review
Urban Veda has created the 'Radiance' range - Using the incredible rejuvenating properties of turmeric to bring you products that care for dry, dull, and dehydrated skin. Here is my review of their full Ayurvedic skincare range.
Last week the lovely team at Urban Veda sent me their Radiance Skincare range
and boy has it been a treat. An award-winning UK company whose products are based on Ayurvedic principles - An ancient health and wellbeing system or way of living that originated in India over 5000 years ago. (Many believe it to be the oldest complete medical system in the world to date.) Additionally, the Ayurvedic way of thinking is a holistic and all-embracing philosophy.
Urban Veda is a 40-year-old family-run business. Whilst they have an ancient Indian philosophy, they are proud to be a UK-based company. A company that believes strongly in the power of plants and that has imported Ayurvedic herbs and spices into the UK since the 70’s.
They are cruelty-free (have never and will never use animal or animal by-products in any of their skincare products or wellbeing) and contain no SLS, mineral oil, or parabens. And to top it off, their bottles are made from recycled plastic and 10% of their online sales go to Plastic Oceans each quarter - Match made in heaven? I think so.
The Urban Veda ranges use a bespoke selection of natural ingredients designed to suit different skin types, which in the principles of Ayurveda are associated with 'doshas'. This is the Ayurvedic term to describe the physical and emotional tendencies of our mind and body. I completed the Urban Veda online questionnaire which gives a great guide to your personal dosha type. Mine Came up as 'Vata' which is defined in Ayurvedic literature by the elements of air and is the principle of movement. Their elemental effects result in dry and dull Vata skin, so the most vital part of my skincare regime should be moisturising. Which is why the Urban Veda's Radiance range that was sent over, is absolutely perfect for me.
The Radiance range is all about boosting hydration levels with anti-inflammatory Turmeric as the key ingredient. I use Turmeric a lot in my cooking as the benefits of this spice are endless. Skin is brightened and the natural glow restored whilst exotic fruit enzymes such as Papaya, Goji Berries, and Liquorice give the skin a burst of hydration. The only way I can describe opening the lids of their products is like that first few moments of an aromatherapy massage - that calming scent that instantly relaxes you, and you know you're in for a treat.
I've always had a 3-step skincare routine, with a face wash, toner, and moisturiser, but the addition of an exfoliating facial polish, facial oil, and a night cream has made such a huge difference in just the short space of 10 days. It makes me very excited to see the longer-term benefits of this range over the up-and-coming months.
A soothing wash that creates a really good lather, perfect for everyday use. It left my skin feeling very clean and soft - A lot of face washes I've used in the past have left my face feeling completely dried out but this one left my skin feeling lovely and hydrated.
Although the formula is gentle, the toner was good at helping to remove the dirt from my skin. My skin looks really bright after applying this across my face and neck and the scent is heavenly!
A light and non-greasy cream that rubs into my skin well, goes lovely under makeup and moisturises effectively. I have been suffering from very dry skin due to the windy Welsh weather on the coast recently but this has been leaving my skin feeling hydrated all day long - I know I keep harping on about it, but the smell!!! SO good.
This cream feels so luxurious and rich, but in no way greasy like so many other night creams. Such a treat to put on before bed, and fabulous to wake up to my skin feeling so much noticeably softer.
A facial exfoliant has never been part of my skincare routine (I know, what have I been doing all these years?) So this product made a huge difference. The polish doesn’t feel too harsh and my skin and was very soothing. This product was a game-changer for me and will definitely be a welcomed new addition to my beauty products!
This product is soooo good. It sinks into the skin beautifully and was such a great product to use for a facial massage. After massaging this product onto my skin for just 5 minutes I found it reduced puffiness, released tension in my face, and left my skin with a healthy glow. Will be investing in a full-size bottle of this oil for sure!
So as you can see, I have nothing but good things to say about Urban Veda. My skin is softer and in much better condition.
I've always battled with large pores and have found they look noticeably smaller because of how hydrating these products are. And if that wasn't enough I love everything this brand represents - Vegan & cruelty-free certified, eco-friendly packaging, donating to a valuable cause and British (so they have complete control over the quality of their products and manufacture in the UK which also significantly reduces their carbon footprint on the planet.)
Urban Veda has even recently formed a partnership with Wastecare which now means they have a way of recycling their skincare empties from customers – not only just from their brand but any other skincare brands too. Customers can either send in their skincare empties to the Urban Veda HQ for a 15% discount off their next online order. Or bring them along to any events or popup shops that they run - I mean, can you ask for more from a brand?
So a glowing review for my glowing skin.
